B eneath a Steel Sky is the second game of the team at Revolution who must cults Broken Sword. This team has always managed to find the perfect balance between humor and adventure, with a capital A.
They have always sought a strong background, a story well developed, never leave out the humor of their own.
R evenons this with our sheep, Beneath a Steel Sky is set in a futuristic contexts where cities are prisons on social classes and where the outside is considered as very dangerous. You play a man just outside, that are caught to be returned to Union City, and their intentions are apparently not very peaceful. You are lucky, the helicopter that transports you to crash in the city. To you trying to escape, and investigate why you were kidnapped, who are you, and what happens in this crazy city.
The universe is really very good work, the paintings are quite spectacular, but unfortunately few. As Beneath a Steel Sky is a quite short, and if you're a regular adventure games you to complete in 4 hours. The game is relatively easy (the only difficulty being to find items sometimes too well hidden in the scenery and the surface should be two pixels), and the sequence of events is logical, more interface with a single click is An example of ergonomics. No more long bars of different actions and complex to Lucas Arts.
J e was speaking of humor and is very active and some scenes are really quite absurd to piss. The secret of Revolution; dialogues with onions (The French translation is really perfect otherwise), without falling into silly pompous exacerbated or cynicism. It's rare enough to be stressed.
P o conclude, Beneath a Steel Sky is a game scenario solid and well put together, its lifetime is short but makes a good adventure film as attractive (think of the other cons save often, you can die. And often faster than we think.). An attractive game that has aged well and is FREE, it does not refuse Gisele!
